Why is the declaration of independence a turning point in history?
The Declaration of Independence is the biggest turning point in history because it was the start of our nation. It declared America free from Britain. If the Declaration of Independence was not written America would still be under control of Britain today and would have no freedom of their own. It is crucial to the United States of America's existence. When it was written, it completely changed the direction of their future, therefore making it a turning point in history. The ideas that were brought forth in the Declaration were very paramount in to the establishment of rights. It was the foundation in the forming of our democracy. It set forth the ideas to which we would be governed by in the future. This document not only impacted American but other countries as well. The Declaration inspired France to have their own revolution for most of the same reasons. This document was most definitely a turning point in history.
